1) Inner Mongolia was originally part of Mongolia, but today it is an autonomous region in northern China.
2) Its border includes most of the length of China's border with Mongolia and a small section of China's border with Russia.
3) The Autonomous Region was established in 1947, It is the 3rd largest province in China, constituting approx. 12% of China's total land area.
4) It recorded a population of more than 24 Milion in 2010, The majority of the population are Chinese, with a Mongol minority. 
5) Official languages are Mandarin (Chinese) and Mongolian.
6) The inner Mongolian people saved the traditional written letters script, as opposed to the Mongolian Cyrillic alphabet, which is used in the state of Mongolia.
7) It is a major mining area with large reserves of coal and iron ore which has made it a major industrial region. As with much of China, economic growth has led to a boom in construction (luxury plaza’s and apartments).
8) Inner Mongolian population feels very attached to Mongolian culture and they prefer doing weddings in Mongolia, the main city Ulaanbaatar.
